Fr. Roland A. Peschel
Named publicly as accused on the archdiocese’s list 11/30/18. It notes reports received in 1993 and 2010 of abuse in 1967. In 1993 Peschel denied the allegation; in 2010 he admitted to it. He retired and was removed in 2010. Per the NE A.G.’s report in 11/21, Peschel sexually abused a girl over several years, beginning when she was age 17 in the late 1960s. She informed a Texas diocese in 1992, and the Omaha archdiocese in 1993 and in 2010. He appears to have been kept in ministry until the report and his admission of the abuse in 2010. The Archdiocesan Review Board deemed the allegations credible.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
