Fr. Louis S. Paturzo
Placed on leave in 5/2002 after allegations that he fondled at least two adolescent boys in the early 1970s. Both incidents are believed to have occurred while Paturzo was still in seminary. One youth’s parents reported the abuse to police in 1993. Police investigated but could not prove anything. Sent for a psychological evaluation and treatment, then reassigned. Removed without privileges in 2002. Named in a 10/2005 settlement between the archdiocese and 43 plaintiffs involving 14 priests. Sued in 2/2008. Included on the archdiocese’s list 1/22/2019. On the Norwich diocese’s list, 2/22/2019. Laicized in 2008.
