Fr. Eugene Jack Okon
Accused in 2002 of molesting two teenage brothers 1974-1977, while to St. Therese of the Infant Jesus/Little Flower and St. Simon’s. Okon joined the Air Force as a chaplain in 1977. He was placed on leave after one of the brothers came forward in 2002. Okon had been working in maintenance at Cathedral High School since 1989. Reportedly, relatives of the brothers complained to Church officials in the 1970s and 1980s but nothing was done. Okon denied the allegations. He resigned from ministry in 2003 as part of a settlement. His name was included on the Archdiocese’s list of credibly accused 10/12/2018. Noted to have four victims, allegedly sexually abused in 1974. He died 11/29/2012.
