Placed on leave in 4/04 due to complaints about his interaction with teenage youths. Had been in his current parish assignment for two years, having replaced Fr. J. Goodman, an admitted abuser. Sent for evaluation. The previous nine years, Murphy was on loan to the Military Archdiocese, working in Providence, RI at the VA hospital “to care for his mother.” “Retired from ministry” per the diocesan website on 12/20/07, but also shown as affiliated with the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Worked in Boston. On Richmond diocese’s list 2/13/19.
