Fr. Patrick Mackan
Accused in a 2002 suit of sexually abusing a 17-year-old Canadian girl after she had been raped and impregnated by another man. The abuse is alleged to have continued 1972-1975 and to have included oral sex and sexual intercourse. Some of the abuse occurred during trips to the U.S., where Mackan supervised other priests of his order in the Louisville archdiocese. His later career involved the education of children with special needs. Mackan died in 1990.
