Fr. Adolph M. Kowalczyk
Accused in a lawsuit filed by a man 5/24/21 under the NY Child Victims Act of encouraging him 1994-98 as an elementary school boy to engage in sexual acts with four girls “provided” by Kowalczyk and two other priests, Revs. Gregory Dobson and Mieczyslaw “Matt” Nycz. Per the suit, the man feared the priests secretly filmed them. He was a student at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Orchard park. Kowalczyk was pastor of the parish when placed on leave due to the allegations. The three priests denied “ever committing any acts of abuse.” Kowalczyk, Dobson and Nycz were reinstated in 10/21 after the Diocese’s review board determined that the allegations against them were unsubstantiated.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
