Fr. Thomas R. Hopp

Suspended in 2002 due to accusation of abuse of a boy in 1980. Had been warned in 1997 by the Archdiocese after an anonymous complaint that he showed “odd” behavior toward a boy; was kept in ministry. Permanently removed from ministry by the Vatican in 10/2005 but not laicized. Civil suit filed in 2004. Suit dismissed by OH Supreme Court on statute of limitations 6/2006. Another suit alleging abuse of a boy, age 13-14, in the 1980s was withdrawn after OH Supreme Court ruling. Died 12/21/2014.
