Fr. George Cooley

Archdiocese knew of complaints as early as 1971 when Cooley was in seminary, and again in 1978. Numerous male victims. Pleaded guilty in 1991 to abuse of four boys; spent three months in jail. Sent to jail for 15 months in 1994 for stalking one of his victims. Arrested in 1996 for soliciting sex from a police decoy posing as a male prostitute. Given house arrest and three years probation. At least nine civil suits. Permanently removed in 1990. Laicized in 1998 after a church trial. Still had teacher’s license as of 10/2006. License revoked in 12/2006. In 2019 was living near Sharonville, OH and working as a bartender for parties and receptions.
