2 Accused in This Religious Order
Br. Robert F. Beaulac
On staff at Assumption Preparatory School in the 1960s. Allegedly pursuaded a young student to stay overnight because of the weather and gave him alcohol. Beaulac had the boy stay in his room where the alleged abuse occurred. The same accuser said another priest at the school, Rev. John Martin, initiated a "relationship" with him during the same general time period of 1965-1967. Beaulac died in 11/2000. Named in a 2002 civil suit.
Fr. Louis J. Rios
Accused in 2/26/04 suit of forcing a 16-year-old girl to have intercourse and, when she got pregnant, offering her money from the NY parish collection and urging her to get an abortion. Rios knew the girl from catechism class, offered her GED tutoring, and then used a confidence about her violent father to begin the abuse and coerce her silence. Another priest promised to help her but didn't. Rios also worked in the dioceses of Worcester MA, San Juan PR, and possibly Boston MA.
