A former Amarillo and Canyon ISD teacher, accused of child sex crimes, was arrested for a sixth time.

Patrick Kenneth Farmer, 57, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of indecency with a child sexual contact.

According to the criminal complaint, Farmer touched the genitals of a girl under the age of 17.

The alleged incident happened in December 2000.

Arrest Timeline

Farmer was arrested September 11, 2024 for indecency with a child sexual contact. That case is still pending.

In November 2024, Farmer was indicted by a Potter County grand jury on two counts of indecency with a child sexual contact.

According to court records, he was arrested four other times in Randall County on similar charges.

In 2006, Farmer pleaded guilty in Randall County to four counts of indecency with a child sexual contact and was sentenced to six years probation.

All of the alleged incidents happened between December 2000 and June 2005.

Civil Lawsuit

In 2009, a civil lawsuit against Paramount Baptist Church, where Farmer worked from 1995-2004, was settled.

The lawsuit claimed Farmer, a child care worker, was inappropriate around children, and that complaints about Farmer’s behavior were ignored, including a letter from a former employee warning not to let him work with children.

Teaching History

ABC 7 News reached out to both Amarillo and Canyon ISDs to confirm when and where he taught.

According to CISD, Farmer taught at Lakeview Elementary from 2000-2001.

AISD said he resigned as a substitute teacher in August 1993.

Farmer’s teaching certificate was revoked by the state in 2007.
