The child told their mother that then-Pastor Timothy Nall touched the child “all over.” The child said they were scared of him, the document said.
Arrest documents allege an East Texas pastor accused of sexually assault would bring the young child into his church office and touch them inappropriately.
Timothy Daniel Nall, 69, of Holly Lake Ranch, was arrested by Tyler Police Department Saturday for a warrant for a sexual assault of a child charge out of Wood County. He was previously the full-time pastor at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Mineola.
According to an arrest affidavit, the reported sexual assault of a child happened in fall of 2022 at the church. Parents of the child told investigators they noticed strange behavior at home starting in the fall of 2022.
In counseling sessions, the child mentioned “a bad guy who touches her belly” and the child referenced getting candy from the man. At some point, the man was identified as Nall. The child’s mother said that one Sunday she found the child in the church office sitting on Nall’s lap and eating candy. At the time, she didn’t think much about it, the affidavit read.
The child told their mother that Nall touched the child “all over.” The child said they were scared of Nall. The child told their mother that if they told someone, they would be locked in the church office and never see their parents again, the affidavit said.
Nall bonded out of the Smith County Jail on a $100,000. This isn’t the only charge that Nall has faced in the past.
In 2023, Nall was charged with indecency with a child by sexual contact for similar accusations of a young child saying Nall touched them inappropriately at church. That child also said they were touched when trying to get candy. At the time, Nall denied the allegations; however, he said he would sometimes place the children in his lap to help them see into the candy bowl on his desk, according to documents.
He has also been accused of crimes in Mississippi.
In June 2013, Nall, who was then the pastor of Farmington Baptist Church in Corinth, Mississippi, was charged with sexual battery against a teen girl, according to WMC-TV. WAPT reported that in September 2014 he was indicted for sexual battery and fondling based on allegations he used his finger to penetrate a 6-year-old child.
