A former Oklahoma pastor who worked at various churches has been arrested for sending a nude photo to a 14-year-old girl in Kansas.

James McMillan was arrested on December 9 on charges related to sending a nude photo—his second arrest in two weeks. He was arrested in November on charges of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16. Court documents show McMillan is listed as the main suspect in multiple sex abuse cases going back to 2003.

McMillan, who is no longer pastoring, previously led First Baptist Church of Konawa, Oklahoma, and then Slaughterville Baptist Church. Slaughterville has since changed its name.

A TV Station in Oklahoma, KOCO 5, talked to former members of McMillan’s churches who said they were not shocked to hear of the charges against their former pastor. “Wasn’t surprised about this, but just sad that there were other victims,” said Lonnie Holland, a treasurer and youth leader at Slaughterville Baptist Church.

“This man needs to be locked up in prison where he can’t have any more victims,” Holland said. “He needs to be held accountable for what he has done.”

McMillan’s arrest this week is from an alleged incident that happened in March of last year.

The victim’s father told KFOR 4, “My daughter had came to me and let me know that she had received a nude picture from a grown man.”

The victim had attended school with McMillan’s son in the past. McMillan sent a friend request to the victim in Snapchat, before sending her a photo of himself flexing in the mirror. According to KFOR 4, McMillan asked if she would “want to see more.” He then sent an unsolicited nude photo.

“He just sent the fully nude picture,” said the victim’s father. “There was no request or anything like that for it. She came right to me with this, which we were very grateful for. It’s something that we really just have to pay attention to, what our kids are doing and what type of platforms they’re on.”

KFOR 4 reports that the father filed a police report with his local department after the incident. In October 2024, he told an Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics officer about the case. The father expressed concern at the length of time it took to get a warrant for McMillan’s arrest.
