Trial begins for former Johnstown pastor accused of traveling to Honduras to molest young boys

After 2 ½ days, a jury has been seated in U.S. District Court in Johnstown to hear the case of a Catholic priest charged with traveling to Honduras to molest young boys under the guise of doing charity work.
Opening arguments are expected this afternoon in United States v. Joseph Maurizio, 70, formerly the pastor at Our Lady Queen of Angels in Somerset County.
The Rev. Maurizio is accused of engaging in illicit sex in foreign places, possession of child porn and transferring money into and out of the country for unlawful purposes.
