JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) — A priest is arrested for sexual battery in Jones County after he confessed to the crime.
A judge set bond at $100,000 for 36-year-old Father Jose Vazquez. We’re told by authorities that Father Vazquez currently works in Stone County.
Sheriff’s Deputies went to the victim’s home on Sept. 9. after his father called authorities. The victim’s father said there was inappropriate behavior between his 12-year-old son and the priest.
When authorities arrived on the scene, Vazquez was still there. He was taken into custody and he confessed to multiple acts of sexual battery with the victim. He said one of the acts happened in Jones County and the other acts happened in other areas.
