New accusations are flying against a Catholic Diocese of Wilmington
priest, who's never before been accused.
Joelle Casteix is the spokeswoman for the Survivors Network of
those Abused by Priests. She represents victims.
Transcript of audio clip: "He filed a claim against a priest
named Harry Dean Walker. He is no longer a priest, but lives here
in Wilmington. And we have heard from several other victims of Walker
as well, and he has never been disclosed as a perpetrator."
Casteix says they want to get Walker's name out there so that other
potential victims can come forward.
She says survivors also reject the Diocese of Wilmington's most
recent plan filed in the bankruptcy case.
Transcript of audio clip: "It was a very disingenuous and
back-handed plan, in an attempt to make the civil sex-abuse lawsuits
all about money. They are crying poor. They’re giving victims
an ultimatum, when really all victims want is transparency."
The announcements came during two news conferences held Thursday
by the Survivors Network in Dover and Wilmington.
