High Court Rejects Priest Case Saint Paul Pioneer Press February 21, 1996 The U.S. Supreme Court refused Tuesday to revive a Wisconsin woman's lawsuit against the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Milwaukee over an alleged sexual relationship she had with a priest decades ago. The justices, acting without comment, let stand a Wisconsin Supreme Court ruling that, among other things, bars lawsuits accusing a religious entity with negligent hiring or training. Judith Pritzlaff sued the archdiocese and the Rev. John T. Donovan in 1992, alleging that he used his position as a priest to coerce her into a sexual relationship from 1959 to 1965. Pritzlaff was a Milwaukee high school student in the late 1950s. |
