Priest Accused Wisconsin State Journal September 11, 1993 A Roman Catholic priest assaulted a boy over a three-year period while on probation for a conviction of sexually molesting a teen-ager, a Milwaukee County Circuit Court criminal complaint said Friday. Dennis A. Pecore, 41, formerly of Rhinelander, told the boy's mother "that maybe it was his subconscious taking over and that he probably should see a psychiatrist," the complaint said. Pecore, a Salvatorian priest, received five years' probation in 1987 for second-degree sexual assault of a 15-year-old boy at a west-side church in 1985. The case led to a $ 595,000 settlement with the boy's family. Pecore's court probation ended last year. The criminal complaint said the boy, now 12, reported he was fondled indecently "on numerous occasions" between 1989 and August 1992. |
