	Priest Faces 3 More Sex Abuse Allegations By Frances Willick Windsor Star July 3, 2010 http://www.windsorstar.com/news/Priest+faces+more+abuse+allegations/3231058/story.html Three more alleged victims of sexual abuse have spoken out against a former Windsor high school principal and teacher, Windsor police said Friday. Rev. William Hodgson (Hod) Marshall was charged in May with one count of indecent assault for abuse that allegedly occurred between 1981 and 1985. Det. Gaston Levesque of the Windsor police special victims unit said three additional complainants from the London and Toronto areas have come forward with claims of abuse. The incidents are alleged to have occurred at Assumption College Catholic high school and St. Hubert's elementary school between 1954 and 1986. While charges have not yet been laid, police said they expect Marshall will face additional charges for those incidents. Rev. Tom Rosica, spokesman for the Congregation of Priests of St. Basil, said the organization has received an undisclosed number of phone calls about Marshall since he was charged. "Every single person who comes forward is treated with great respect," Rosica said. "We encourage the people, if they haven't done so and if need be, to go the police." Rosica added that complaints about Marshall came late in the priest's life. "I do not remember the date of the first complaint, but he was an old man." In 2002, a former student of St. Charles College in Sudbury, Ont., was awarded more than $10,000 by a small claims court for damages related to sexual assaults allegedly inflicted by Marshall. A spokesperson for the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board said Friday the school board is not aware of any complaints against the former teacher and principal. Now 87 and battling cancer, Marshall lives in a retirement residence for Basilian priests in Toronto. Marshall taught at Assumption for two years in the mid-'50s and at St. Hubert's elementary school and Holy Names high school in the 1980s. He has also worked at schools in Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie and Houston, Texas. Police in those cities said they have no records of current charges against Marshall. Sudbury police Staff Sgt. Richard Waugh said he didn't want to comment on whether police there were dealing with current complaints. "I don't feel quite comfortable releasing any info about ongoing investigations, if there are any."
