(AP) — A northern Indiana Roman Catholic priest is denying allegations that he engaged in sexual misconduct with a minor nearly 20 years ago. The Times of Munster reports that the Rev. Terrence Chase was placed on leave Thursday by church officials amid the allegations that came to light a few weeks ago. Chase is the pastor of Queen of All Saints Church in Michigan City. In a letter dated Friday, Gary Diocese Bishop Dale Melczek (Mehl-CHECK) says the accuser says the sexual misconduct took place about 1991 when Chase was an associate priest at St. Patrick church in Chesterton. Church officials did not identify the person. Chase called the allegations untrue in a statement attached to Melczek's letter.
