Second Priest Suspended Amid Sexual Misconduct Allegations WITN January 25, 2010 http://www.witn.com/home/headlines/82618892.html Another Catholic priest who served in Eastern Carolina has been suspended from his duties because of allegation of sexual misconduct. Father Kenneth Parker, a retired priest, was suspended of his priestly faculties on Friday. Parker served in Tarboro back in the 1970's and later in Newton Grove, where the alleged misconduct took place. He retired in 1993, and sometimes filled in for priests who were on vacation. The Diocese of Raleigh says it received the allegation on November 13th that Parker was involved in sexual misconduct with a minor that dates back to 1982. Parker denies the charge. The Diocese conducted a preliminary investigation and has reported it to the North Carolina Conference of District Attorneys. Earlier this month a priest from Duplin County was arrested on charges of second degree sexual offense and misdemeanor sexual battery that allegedly happened in Brunswick County. Father Edgar Sepulveda has also been suspended from his priestly duties.
