	Priest Named in Abuse Cases Dies at 70 By Lawrence Buser The Commercial Appeal December 29, 2009 http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2009/dec/29/priest-named-in-abuse-cases-dies-at-70/ A priest who was a leader of Memphis Catholic youth groups in the 1970s and later was named in multiple lawsuits alleging sexual abuse died Sunday in Nashville. Rev. Paul St. Charles, who had battled heart and neuromuscular problems for many years, died at St. Thomas Hospital, according to Rick Musaccio, director of communications for the Diocese of Nashville. He was 70. St. Charles, who retired in 1986 because of health problems, was youth director for the Memphis Catholic Diocese in the early 1970s, headed the Catholic Youth Organization at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Frayser and was pastor at Church of the Ascension.
