	Port Barre Priest Appears for 72-Hour Hearing KLFY [Louisiana] October 10, 2006 http://www.klfy.com/Global/story.asp?S=5523551 Father Nicky Trahan, the Port Barre priest charged with stealing $250,000 from his congregation, made his first court appearance Tuesday. Father Trahan appeared before a St. Landry Parish district court judge for his 72-hour hearing. The priest has been charged with 84 counts of theft at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Father Trahan was implicated after police arrested church secretary, Ramona Speyrer on 70 counts of theft earlier last week. Spyrer now faces a total of 84 counts. Father Trahan denies all charges.
