Richard Poster Delayed WOI September 27, 2006 http://www.woi-tv.com/Global/story.asp?S=5462536&nav=1LFX Davenport, Iowa A court hearing for a former Roman Catholic priest arrested last week for violating his parole was delayed today. The Reverand Richard Poster was arrested last week for allegedly having contact with children in Davenport, on an area bike path and near a school in Buffalo, Iowa, where he has been living with his parents. Poster was sentenced to a year in federal prison on possession of child pornography charges in January 2004 and was released on parole with the requirement that he would stay away from children. The U-S Attorney's office says recent allegations are evidence that Poster is a predator. Poster was to make an appearance in U-S District Court today but the hearing was canceled. A new date for the hearing had not been set. He remains in custody. The diocese asked the Vatican to defrock Poster in June 2004, but no decision has been made.
