	Siege Ends As Man Claims He Was Abused Irish Independent [Ireland] August 25, 2006 http://www.unison.ie/irish_independent/stories.php3?ca=9&si=1676922&issue_id=14561 THE man at the centre of a 30-hour siege finally gave himself up last night, calmly walking out of the house he earlier said he rigged with gas explosives. Jim Hourigan, who is in his mid 50s, had earlier issued a statement saying that he had been sexually abused while training as a Christian Brother. At 6.30pm he walked out of his rented house on Rosemary Street in Roscrea, Co Tipperary and strolled coolly to the local garda station with his dog, Jerry, on a leash. He was in the care of medics last night. It is understood that Mr Hourigan had watched the television news for coverage of his story. Satisfied with its portrayal, he finally ended the siege. Gardai had agreed to provide the media with details of Mr Hourigan's personal grievances after he expressed disappointment with the coverage of the story on Wednesday. Jason O'Brien
