Peter Jeffrey Wiltshire is accused of indecently dealing with two girls, both aged under 10, three times within the institute grounds on November 18 last year. The 55-year-old clergyman allegedly put his hand down the top of one of the girls and then touched her bottom in the Garden of Enlightenment. He also is accused of putting his hand down the top of the second girl. Susan Ross, also known by her ordained name of Jampa Deyki, told Maroochydore Magistrates Court yesterday she was "stunned" when the girl, who was wearing a pink sleeveless top, made the allegations that day. Ms Ross said she phoned the man in charge of the monks' Eudlo community, Lozang Zopa, to return immediately because there had "been allegations about inappropriate behaviour by a monk". Robert Miller, also known as Chenrezig head Lozang Zopa, said the accused monk was visibly upset and denied the allegations. Mr Miller said "he was in a bad state" and had asked to be admitted to Nambour hospital's psychiatric ward. "(The girl) said that earlier that afternoon, she and her younger sister had seen (the accused) in the garden area," he said. "They ran down to say hello ... she said that down there, (the accused) had placed their hand down their shirt." Mr Miller said the accused monk, who had been ordained almost two years ago, had suffered from depression.
