	$1 Million Award against Diocese Upheld By Phil Ray Altoona Mirror [Hollidaysburg PA] March 23, 2006 http://www.altoonamirror.com/articles.asp?ID=15550 HOLLIDAYSBURG - The state Superior Court has upheld a $1 million punitive damage award against the Altoona-Johnstown Catholic Diocese. The award stems from sexual abuse of a former Altoona boy by a priest at St. Therese Parish and its elementary school in the 1970s. A three-member panel of the state appeals court called "outrageous" the actions by the late Bishop James J. Hogan and the diocese, which ignored pleas of children and parents.
