Robert L. Foster, Sr. 11-17-25 1-30-03 Robert L. Foster, Sr. was born in Putnam, Oklahoma, in 1925. On July 1, 1949, he married Mary Jo Hull. Together they had six children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo Foster; son, John Michael Foster; grandsons Chuck Speed and Phillip Speed. He is survived by five children, Dr Candy Sebert of Chandler, OK; Dr Denise Speed of Mustang, OK; Dr. Sue Greenfield of Edmond, OK, Mr. Robert L. Foster, Jr of Chandler, OK; and Ms Cindy Foster of Oklahoma City, OK. Nine grandchildren, Landon Speed of Oklahoma City, OK; Mandy Greenfield of Oklahoma City, OK; Amy Gray of Shawnee, OK, Brandi Greenfield of Oklahoma City, OK; Shawna Foster of Oklahoma City, OK, Allyse Foster of Chandler, OK; Tanner Sebert of Chandler, OK; Callie Sebert of Chandler, OK; Stacia Speed of Mustang, OK. He graduated from Oklahoma University with an LLB Degree in 1950. He was the first student to receive a JD from OU School of Law in 1970. He served in the Army Air Corps from January, 1944 thru 1945, and continued in the Air Corp Reserves until 1952. He became Lincoln County Judge in 1951, until becoming The Associate District Judge of Lincoln County in 1969. He retired from the bench in 1986, totaling 35 years on the bench in Lincoln County without a single complaint to the Bar. He also served as City Attorney for the City of Chandler. He served on the State Bar Association, Lincoln County Bar Association, Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity. He held offices of president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer on the Lincoln County Judges Association. He was actively engaged for over 50 years in the Lions Club as member, secretary, treasurer, and Chief Lion, Zone Chairman, Deputy District Governor. He was actively engaged in the Chamber of Commerce as member, secretary, and treasurer. He co-organized Chandler Combined Charities with Judge Donald Powers. He was actively engaged in the following youth activities and organizations in Chandler, Boy Scouts of America, Assistant Scout Master, District Chairman OK Kids Baseball, Chairman of Cimarron Valley League, secretary, treasurer, and coach FHA Chapter Father for a number of years. He served as an ordained deacon at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Chandler from 1979-1997. He was in Who's Who in America. Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, Chandler, OK. (405) 258-1177. Burial in Oak Park Cemetery, Chandler.
