Middleton Priest Is Located By Farah Stockman Boston Globe February 1, 2002 The Middleton priest who left St. Agnes parish after youth worker Christopher Reardon was charged with sexually abusing at least 20 boys has been living in Maine, in Danvers, and in the compound of Cardinal Bernard Law in Brighton, according to a lawyer representing some of Reardon's victims. Alan Greiner, who placed a newspaper ad asking for information about the Rev. Jon C. Martin for a possible civil suit, said he discovered that Martin has been staying at 2101 Commonwealth Ave., the address of Cardinal Law's compound. Martin, Reardon's supervisor, left St. Agnes and vanished after Reardon's arrest. Martin decided not to give a farewell sermon after the Globe reported that he had been warned of Reardon's behavior and that Martin had broken church rules by allowing ex-prison inmates to sleep in his rectory. Church officials could not be reached for comment yesterday. Martin is charged in a civil suit with failing to protect Reardon's victims. |
