  Salisbury to Conduct Psychology Lectures

The Rev. Walter Dayton Salisbury. S.S.J.. M.Th.. of the Galveston-Houston Diocese, noted Adlerian psychologist, will conduct four psychology lectures, e x e r c i s e s and lab demonstrations at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in La Marque on successive Monday evenings, Sept. 11, Sept. 18, Sept 25 and Oct. 2 from 7 to 10.

Topics for discussion are: Sept. 11, "Coping With Tension"; Sept. 18, “Parent-Child, Parent- Teen-ager Communications"; Sept. 25, “New Approaches to Discipline," and Oct. 2, "Setting Goals and Understanding Behavior."

A member of the Josephite order, Father Salisbury did his postgraduate work in Adlerian psychology under Dr. Rudolph Dreikurs, at the University of Vermont. He has been chaplain at Texas Southern U n i v e r s i t y Newman Center for more than 20 years and teaches at the University of St. Thomas. He is president of the Texas Society of Adlerian Psychologists and a member of the board of directors of the North American Society of Adlerian Psychologists. He is past chairman for the continuing education of priests for the Galveston- Houston Diocese and has been elected to the Diocesan Senate of Priests for four consecutive two-year terms.

The presentations at Queen of Peace are being held in connection with CCD teacher in-service training, but will be of basic interest to all parents and teen-agers, and anyone else interested in gaining more knowledge about human relations, understanding and communications.
