Fr. David A. Pichette
On duty outside the [Syracuse] diocese per 1989 Catholic Directory. On 5/23/11, a man made public allegations that Pichette had fondled him on two occasions and made other sexual advances in 1981 when he was a teen volunteer at Nazareth Farm in WV. Pichette worked at Nazareth Farm 6/79-9/88. Accuser said he notified the Syracuse diocese in 2010. Diocese said Pichette’s privileges were removed in 1993, that he was “formally removed” as a priest in 2005 and that the accuser told them in 2003. On Syracuse diocese’s list 12/3/18. On Wheeling-Charleston diocese’s list late 2018. It notes he left the diocese 9/88 and left the Syracuse diocese in 1994. Accused, along with two other priests, in a lawsuit filed in 6/20 under the NY Child Victims Act of abusing a Syracuse boy. The plaintiff claims he was a freshman at Seton Central Catholic High School in 1973 when Pichette began abusing him.
