Fr. Frederick A. Loyd
Report to the Columbus diocese in 11/2008 that Loyd sexually abused a 15-year-old boy for two years, beginning in 1985, while assigned to St. Francis de Sales in Newark, OH. Bishop Campbell ordered Loyd to refrain from all public ministry pending investigation. In 12/2008 the review board found the allegations credible. Campbell began the process to remove Loyd permanently. His last assignment was in 2004. Retired from active ministry in 2006. The Diocese stated this was the first allegation against Loyd. On the diocese’s list 3/1/2019. Laicized.
