Fr. John Kevin Connell
Accused in a 2002 lawsuit of abusing a 12-year-old boy during a trip to FL in 1975 or 1976 and in Plymouth, MA. Removed as St. John’s Prep school chaplain by the Archdiocese 1994 or 1995 after church officials received a complaint against him. More allegations in 1997. The suit settled for $45K in 6/1998. Another allegation surfaced, of abuse in 1982. Connell received treatment and was reassigned in 1984. Retired in 11/2001. Voluntary laicization announced in 6/2005. Died in 2007. Per the Boston archdiocese’s list in 8/2011, the case concluded canonically. Named in a lawsuit settled in 11/2021 in the high five figures. The suit also named Rev. Brian Gallagher.
