He was charged with assaulting a girl between 1981 and 1983 when. Keane was at St. Elizabeth Parish in Milton and/or Our Lady Parish in Stoughton. Sentenced to 30 days in jail and probation. Keane transferred to another church in 1987 and took a leave of absence in 1989, He now lives in Florida. Boston, MA Source: Patriot Ledger 2.02.08 Keane Patrick 1973 P Sued Diocesan Man told church authorities in 1994 of repeated abuse by Keane in Rectory in Metairie. Keane sent for treatment and has since left priesthood. Archdiocese never apologized and never notified other parishes to see if other victims existed. Keane admitted the abuse in sworn deposition in 1999. Settlement talks collapsed in 1999 and as of August 2002 case was still pending. No admission of wrongdoing on Keith's part. Mother says she complained repeatedly to Diocese and nothing done. Keith retired in 1990 and died 2003. He denied all charges and claimed suit filed to get money to help victim with learning disability. Keith admitted to being recovering alcoholic. Shown on list released by San Diego Diocese 3/30/07. Several of the teens said that they gave depositions to the Diocese in late 1980s. No information found as to what Diocese did to him at the time. In Oct. 2003 Keller's supervising priest, Vincent Gallo, was named as abuser in massive civil suit naming 24 priests as abusers. Keller has not been named in any known civil suit. He also wrote "love letters" to the 16 yr old boy. Keller denied abuse but admitted holding the youth in a "manner inappropriate for a priest," Archdiocese said conduct did not fit definition of sexual abuse. Diocesan review board found no credible evidence (Cardinal Law accepted decision) and Kelley agreed to move. In April 2002, Personnel Committee learned of 2nd allegation against Kelley. Some dispute as to whether Kelley was part of Buffalo diocese at time of abuse or St. Petersburg FL diocese. 2nd man made complaint in 11/03 alleging abuse before Kelley left Buffalo. He resigned after 2nd allegation. Kelly denied the allegations. Police dept. notified. Per Kelly's atty, the priest immediately took a polygraph test which showed he was telling the truth when he denied he had abused the boy or any other child during his 35-year career as a priest. Reinstated by Diocese 3/08 when claimant would not cooperate. Civil suit filed 3/27/08. No criminal charges wilbe filed by King Co. prosecutors but Archdiocese has concluded its own investigation and will make recommentation to Vatican.
