GaffneyJames F.1985PSuedDiocesanWoman filed suit in 2004 alleging that she was sexually abused by Gaffney at Reading Central Catholic high school. Abuse began at age 16 and lasted for two years. Suit states that officials were notified and that Gaffney was transferred to St. Frances de Chantal in Easton where he continued to have sex with the plaintiff when she was in college. When the boy fled, Gelineau allegedly pursued him and tried to drown him. At the time, Gelineau was a brother at the orphanage, scene of much physical and sexual abuse.
