Trotter, "John" |
- Ordained 1945? |
On 5/11/04, a suit was filed accusing
Rev. John Trotter of abusing a minor male in 1970-73 at St. Peter's
in Philadelphia. The archdiocese could not locate any records or verify
that a Rev. John Trotter ever worked in the archdiocese. Indeed, no
priest named John Trotter is listed in the Directory as working
in the entire US in the early 1970s. However, there was a
Stigmatine priest, Rev. Leonard F. Trotter, C.S.Sp., who was an assistant
pastor at St. Peter Claver in Philadelphia from 1967 until his death
on 9/28/77. He came to St. Peter's from an assignment in Pittsburgh,
and had previously been a missionary in east Africa. His first Directory
entry appears to be 1946. We are not aware of any allegations against
Rev. Leonard F. Trotter.
