Dear Friends and Supporters,

Let me begin by thanking you for your past support for our mission here in Northern Alaska. You may read in the news or hear reports about our diocese filing for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code. The case will be filed in the federal Bankruptcy Court. This hopefully consensual plan was taken in response to lawsuits by Alaskans who have been harmed by priests, ministers and volunteers in the diocese. I do not take this step lightly... - Bishop Donald Kettler, February 2008.

On this web page, you will find current information pertaining to the plan for reorganization which the Diocese of Fairbanks is seeking in an effort to be fair and pastoral, both to the victims of past abuses and the members of the church and communities we serve today.
