Irish Times
May 24, 2002

A 78-year-old priest who is charged with sexually abusing a young boy at the Letterfrack Industrial School in Connemara during the 1950's, appeared before Clifden District Court yesterday.

Father Christopher Kilkelly, with an address at Belton Abbey, Moone, Athy, Co Kildare, denies two charges of indecently assaulting the boy at Letterfrack in 1957 and 1958.

Judge John Garavan refused to restrict publication of the accused's name and remanded Father Kilkelly on bail to appear again on July 25th.

Christian Brother, Maurice Tobin (70), of North Circular Road, Dublin, who faces 136 charges of sexually abusing boys at the same institution, was remanded on continuing bail yesterday also to appear before the same court on July 25th.
