Bernard Paterniti was ordained for the Society of St. Paul on May 31, 1947 and served as a member of that community until 1966, when he became a priest of the Diocese of Buffalo, New York. Father Pat served as assistant pastor in several parishes of the diocese and as pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Brant. In 1981 he retired from active ministry because of declining health and resided at St. Bernadette parish in Orchard Park, New York until his unexpected death at the age of 68. Father Pat was a respected and well liked priest.
