Barnaby discusses Pell at Vatican meeting

Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce has discussed the charges against Cardinal George Pell at a meeting in the Vatican. During a European trade talks tour, Mr Joyce sat down with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin just days after its Australian treasurer was charged with historic sexual offences. 'Quite obviously we raised that issue,' he told ABC radio on Monday after the meeting. Mr Joyce insisted allegations until proven are merely allegations. 'Of course people have concerns but they want to make sure this issue is dealt with in the most prudent, balanced and proper way.'
