Florida pastor flees naked after being caught with man's wife

O. Jermaine Simmons, a well-known pastor based in Tallahassee, Florida, was forced to flee a house naked after a husband came home early to find him in bed with his wife.

According to details outlined in a police report, the two were having sex in the married couple's bedroom in the middle of the afternoon on Jan. 17 when the woman's husband arrived home early from work.

Officers were called to the scene after the woman called to report her husband was irate and armed with a handgun upon spotting the pastor.

Since news has circulated, the incident has sparked intense backlash on social media and in the community.

Simmons spoke to his congregation in an address that seemed to portray himself and members of the church as victims. A member of the congregation filmed and uploaded the address to YouTube.

The video has since been viewed over 40,000 times.

Simmons asked his congregation for forgiveness at Tallahassee's Jacob Chapel, saying, "you cannot defend sin.""I'm hurting because I've hurt you," Simmons said to members on Sunday, Jan. 22. "I can't speak to people on the outside. I am not Tallahassee's pastor. I am not Florida's pastor. I am Jacob Chapel's pastor. It hurts me that you have to defend my actions."Simmons, who is also married and has a son, will be putting off the scheduled signing of his first book, I Need a Man, which is describe on his website as a read that provides "a fresh perspective on the issues of godly manhood and mentoring."
