Polish Priest Given Suspended Sentence for Molesting Girls

Among other incidents, Father Stanislaw G. (full name withheld under Polish privacy laws) fondled girls while preparing them for their first communion. The priest will be put on a probationary period for five years. Besides the suspended prison sentence, the clergyman has been given a lifetime ban from instructing or overseeing minors. He has also been fined PLN 3,000. Regional Prosecutor Bartosz Wojcik had called for a three-year prison sentence, and he is now preparing the grounds for an appeal. “The sentence is too low,” he told local paper Kurier Lubelski.
