“For decades, the locker rooms at Chaminade College Preparatory School in our town were a place of terror for several students aged 11-18, who as adults have filed lawsuits against the school alleging widespread sexual abuse by its staff. Former students also say they were abused in Chaminade’s boarding school rooms and staff offices.” That’s the lede of a new Guardian piece about the church’s continuing abuse crisis. It quotes our town’s Christopher Wimmer, who says he was abused by Brother John Woulfe and Brother Louis Meinhardt at the school. It also quotes local victims’ barrister Nicole Gorovsky and Marianist head Fr. Martin Solma.
