Bishops’ Spring General Assembly In St. Louis Will Be Available By Web Stream, Social Media, Satellite Feed

WASHINGTON—The 2015 Spring General Assembly of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) will be broadcast via satellite from St. Louis, June 10-11, to Catholic television outlets and all broadcasters wishing to air it. The satellite feed will run Wednesday, June 10, (10:15 a.m.-4:15 p.m. Eastern), and Thursday, June 11, (9:15 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Eastern). Media conferences will follow open sessions of the meeting.

The proceedings will also be live streamed at www.usccb.org/about/leadership/usccb-general-assembly/index.cfm. News updates, addresses and other materials will be posted on this page. The meeting agenda will include a report from Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz of Louisville, Kentucky, USCCB president, on the consultation of U.S. dioceses for October’s Synod of Bishops on the Family in Rome. Archbishop Charles J. Chaput of Philadelphia will provide an update on the World Meeting of Families. Archbishop Thomas G. Wenski of Miami and Bishop Oscar Cantú of Las Cruces, New Mexico, will discuss the themes of Pope Francis’ upcoming encyclical on ecology. Archbishop John C. Wester of Santa Fe, New Mexico, will unveil new digital resources available to U.S. dioceses in time for the papal visit.
