Alone at the defense table, former Rosarian Academy teacher Stephen Budd sat frozen Tuesday, staring straight ahead in an unblinking silence.

A jury moments earlier had convicted him of capital sexual battery charges for molesting two of his former fourth graders. And moments after, Palm Beach County Circuit Judge Karen Miller gave him three consecutive sentences of life in prison, along with two sentences of 15 years in prison.
