Four freshman football players are gone from their team after questionable locker room behavior and a police investigation.

Archdiocese of Cincinnati spokesman Dan Andriacco told WLWT News 5 Wednesday night that Cincinnati police were investigating after receiving reports of alleged inappropriate behavior at McNicholas High School.

According to a Cincinnati police report, "suspect pulled victim from locker and struck him in groin area with cleated shoes. Suspect #3 pulled down his own shorts and stuck his butt in the victim's face."

Andriacco would not say specifically what happened in the locker room, but said that the four teens were suspended from school for five days and kicked off the freshmen football team.

He also said that the school notified Cincinnati police. So far, no charges have been filed, though the police report mentions misdemeanor assault with "investigation pending."

The report was filed on Oct. 16, but the incident happened on Oct. 9.

The suspended students will return to the classroom Thursday, Andriacco said. They have not been identified because of their age.

The freshman team had to forfeit its last game because the suspensions left them without enough players to compete.

The team is expected to play its next game as scheduled.

Several parents reached out to WLWT News 5 Wednesday afternoon about the alleged incident.

Coaches and school administrators did not respond to requests for comment on the matter.
