Former Youth Leader Pleads Guilty to Sex Charges

A former youth leader was in court on Thursday and pleaded guilty to several sex charges, including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.

Joshua Markelwitz, of Enola, Cumberland County admitted to sexually molesting a girl when she was about 11-years-old.

Police say he met her through his Lower Paxton Township church.

Police say the molestation happened over a three year period.

Investigators say Markelwitz also admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old Cumberland County girl. He met her when he was a volunteer with her high school band.

Markelwitz is expected to be sentenced to 12 to 24 years in prison.
