Priest Accused of Exposing Himself at Gas Station

The pastor of a Catholic church in Batavia was charged Friday with public indecency.

Monsignor Aaron Brodeski is accused of exposing himself to those inside and in the lot outside of a Road Ranger gas station at 4980 S. Main St., in Rockford, on the evening of March 27.

Winnebago County Sheriff’s Police Deputy Chief Dominic Iasperro said, in a press release, that the clerk copied the license plate, which checked back to the 44-year-old Brodeski, who is pastor of Holy Cross parish in Batavia.

The Rockford diocese issued a statement in which it said Brodeski agreed to be put on leave April 25, when the diocese was informed of the investigation, for what the diocese termed “evaluation and possible treatment for any difficulties affecting his conduct and ministry.”

Iasperro said that Msgr. Brodeski turned himself in Friday, following his return from treatment, and was held at the Winnebago County jail. The diocese asked for prayers on Brodeski’s behalf.

Brodeski has not posted to his Twitter and Facebook accounts since Easter but three parishioners have left messages of support on his Facebook account. One called him a “wonderful pastor,” a second called him “an amazing leader” and a third wrote, “We pray that God will guide him back to the path He has planned for him.”
