Pastor arrested for alleged rape committed while he was Miss. school janitor

Lenell McGee turned himself in to Hinds County Sheriff’s deputies. He was wanted for March rape of high school student.

A Mississippi man working as a Baptist preacher has been arrested for the rape of a Jackson high school student, authorities said.

Lenell McGee resigned last month as a janitor for the Forest Hill High School after a student accused him of taking her to a motel room and sexually assaulting her, reported WAPT-TV.

He was arraigned Friday and released after posting $50,000 bail.

He surrendered Thursday to the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department. He had been serving as a Baptist pastor.

There were conflicting local reports on the name of his church.
