Parish Choir Director Facing Criminal Misconduct Charges

A Middleville man who worked as a parish choir director faces criminal sexual conduct charges involving a teenage girl. The man, 32-year-old Nathan Lavoie, worked as the choir director at St Therese Lisieux Parish in Wayland. Mlive reports that Lavoie was arrested on December 5th in connection with the charges, alleging that the sexual abuse went on between 2011 and 2013. Michigan State Police are investigating to find out if there are more victims. Lavoie could face up to 20 years in prison and 100-thousand dollars in fines.
