Priest Arrested for Soliciting Sex to Appear in Court Tuesday

A man was arrested at Edgewater Park Friday afternoon after he allegedly solicited an off-duty plainclothes Metroparks ranger for sex.

According to rangers spokeswoman Monica Banks Hines, James McGonegal offered the ranger $50, then admitted he was HIV positive.

According to sources with the Cleveland Metroparks, McGonegal is a priest at St. Ignatius of Antioch Church on Lorain Avenue.

McGonegal was released on personal bond Saturday morning. He will appear in court on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
